Terms of Service and Privacy Policy
Effective date: September 17, 2026
Terms of Service
Just Invoice provides the Just Invoice service. By accessing or using the Just Invoice service (the “Service”), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree to these terms, you must not use the Service.
Use of the Service
You must be at least 18 years old to use Just Invoice. You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials and for all activity that occurs under your account. You agree to notify us immediately of any unauthorized use of your account.
You agree to use the Service only for lawful purposes and in accordance with these terms. You may not misuse the Service, attempt to gain unauthorized access, interfere with its operation, or use it in a way that could harm Just Invoice, other users, or third parties.
Subscriptions and Payments
Just Invoice provides free no-account guest invoice and estimate generators. An authenticated Just Invoice workspace requires Premium access. Web subscriptions are processed by Stripe. Eligible new web customers receive a 30-day free trial with a payment card required up front, then Premium renews at $8 CAD per month, plus applicable taxes, unless canceled.
For web subscriptions, you may cancel during the trial without a subscription charge. After the trial, subscriptions are billed in advance for each monthly billing period. If you cancel after billing begins, you retain Premium until the end of the paid period. We do not provide refunds for partial web billing periods unless required by law.
Where available, iOS subscriptions are purchased and billed through your Apple Account at the price and duration shown before purchase. They renew automatically unless canceled in your Apple subscription settings at least 24 hours before the current period ends. Apple manages billing and refund requests for these purchases. The same Just Invoice account receives Premium on supported platforms without a second subscription. Deleting your Just Invoice account does not cancel an Apple subscription; manage cancellation through Apple.
Stripe Connect and Funds Responsibility
For the avoidance of doubt, Just Invoice do not receive, hold, store, custody, control, transmit, or manage your customer payment funds. Payment processing is performed by Stripe under Stripe Connect.
You agree that Stripe is solely responsible for payment processing and fund handling, including authorization, capture, settlement, payout timing, payout failures, reserves, rolling reserves, account reviews, compliance checks, risk controls, disputes, chargebacks, refunds, reversals, held funds, delayed funds, and frozen balances.
Just Invoice are not a bank, money transmitter, payment institution, or custodian. We are not liable for any loss, claim, delay, interruption, withholding, reserve, freeze, seizure, offset, deduction, or unavailability of funds occurring within Stripe or resulting from Stripe policies, Stripe systems, Stripe decisions, network rules, or legal and regulatory requirements applied by Stripe or applicable authorities.
Your Data and Content
You retain full ownership of all data, content, and information you submit to the Service, including invoice data and customer information. By using Just Invoice, you grant us a limited permission to store, process, and display this data solely for the purpose of operating and providing the Service.
We do not claim ownership over your business data and will not use it for purposes unrelated to providing Just Invoice.
Availability and Disclaimer
The Service is provided on an “as is” and “as available” basis. While we make reasonable efforts to keep Just Invoice reliable, secure, and accurate, we do not guarantee that the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or free of bugs.
Just Invoice make no warranties, express or implied, including implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, or non-infringement.
Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, Just Invoice shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, including loss of profits, data, or business opportunities, even if we have been advised of the possibility of such damages.
Without limiting the foregoing, Just Invoice disclaim all liability for any funds processed through Stripe Connect, including cases where Stripe holds funds, delays payouts, imposes reserves, freezes balances, or otherwise restricts access to funds.
Our total liability for any claim related to the Service shall not exceed the amount you paid to use the Service during the twelve (12) months preceding the claim.
We may update these Terms of Service from time to time. When we do, we will update the effective date at the top of this page. Continued use of the Service after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the updated terms.
If you have questions about these Terms of Service, you can contact us at support@justinvoice.ca.
Privacy Policy
This Privacy Policy explains what personal information Just Invoice collects through our website, web application, and iOS and Android applications, why we use it, when we disclose it, and the choices available to you.
Information We Collect
Account and workspace information includes your name, email address, Firebase user and sign-in-provider identifiers, language, business details, logos, tax and payment instructions, clients, products or services, invoices, estimates, and settings. These records may contain names, email addresses, phone numbers, mailing addresses, financial transaction details, and other content about you, your business, and your customers. You are responsible for providing customer information lawfully.
Billing and communication information includes Stripe customer, subscription, connected-account, payment, refund, and transaction identifiers and status; messages and files sent through invoice email, support, feedback, questionnaires, or tester signup; account-deletion requests; and, if you opt in to promotional email, your email address, language, signup source, consent wording, and consent time. Stripe, rather than Just Invoice, collects full payment-card and connected-account verification details on its hosted pages.
Technical and usage information may include IP address, user agent, browser or device type, app and operating-system version, language, network state, request path and status, login activity, page views, feature interactions, analytics identifiers, internal account or organization identifiers, and limited crash or error diagnostics. Approximate location may be inferred from an IP address; our mobile apps do not request precise GPS location. Mobile error reports are designed to omit raw exception messages, authentication tokens, email addresses, invoice content, and local file paths.
How We Use Your Information
- Authenticate users and provide, operate, synchronize, and maintain the Service
- Create, store, display, send, and receive payment updates for invoices, estimates, and related business records
- Process subscriptions, Stripe Connect onboarding, and customer payments
- Respond to support, feedback, tester, and account-deletion requests and send service communications
- Measure use of the Service, troubleshoot errors, prevent abuse and fraud, and improve reliability and security
- Send occasional Just Invoice promotions and special offers when you expressly subscribe
- Comply with legal obligations and enforce our agreements
We do not sell or rent personal information, use it for third-party advertising, or enable cross-app advertising tracking. Promotional email is optional and requires your express consent.
Information Stored on Your Device
The website may use cookies, local storage, and session storage to maintain authentication, remember language and workflow state, preserve drafts, and support Google Analytics. The mobile apps use application storage to maintain the Firebase sign-in session and language preference and to cache workspace information, clients, products, settings, invoices, estimates, drafts, and changes waiting to synchronize. Generated invoice PDFs may also be cached on the device.
Drafts and queued changes are sent to Just Invoice when you save or synchronize them. Signing out clears user-scoped mobile caches, pending changes, drafts, and cached invoice PDFs; a language preference may remain. Files you export or share are controlled by the destination you choose and are not removed by clearing the app cache.
Service Providers and Other Disclosures
We use Google services, including Firebase Authentication, Firebase Hosting, Google Sign-In, and Google Analytics, for account access, hosting, security, and service measurement. Google may process authentication details, browser or device identifiers, IP-derived location, page and feature events, subscription events, and a pseudonymous internal organization identifier. If you use Sign in with Apple, Apple processes the authorization and may provide your name and email or a private relay address. If Apple gives us a relay address, we use it as the account email for service communications.
Stripe processes web Premium billing, connected-account onboarding, and optional customer card payments. We receive identifiers, amounts, transaction and subscription status, and other records needed to provide and reconcile those features, but not full card numbers. Postmark processes recipient addresses, message content, invoice PDF attachments, and delivery or bounce information for transactional, invoice, support, tester, and consented promotional email. It also records open activity for messages where open tracking is enabled, including invoice email. Telegram receives restricted operational alerts that may include limited account or contact identifiers and technical, payment-status, request, or error metadata needed to operate and secure the Service.
For iOS in-app purchases, Apple processes subscription billing. We send Apple a random account token and retain that token, transaction identifiers, product, environment, subscription status, and renewal or expiration information to verify Premium access. We do not receive your full Apple payment-card details. When the Just Invoice account is deleted, we remove its subscription link and token mapping but retain an unlinked purchase record to prevent fraudulent reassignment.
Hosting, database, network, and security providers process information needed to run the Service. We may also disclose information when required by law, to protect users or the Service, to investigate abuse or fraud, or as part of a business transaction subject to appropriate safeguards. We limit providers to information reasonably needed for their role; their own terms and privacy policies also apply.
Processing Outside Quebec and Canada
Some service providers, including Google, Apple, Stripe, Postmark, and Telegram, may process or store information outside Quebec or Canada, including in the United States and other countries where they operate. Information processed elsewhere may be subject to the laws and lawful access regimes of those jurisdictions.
Data Security
We take reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect your information against unauthorized access, loss, or misuse. However, no system can be completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
Access to production data and operational alerts is restricted to people and providers who need it for the purposes described above. Account credentials and full payment-card details are handled by the applicable authentication or payment provider rather than stored in the Just Invoice application database.
Retention and Account Deletion
We retain account and workspace information while your account is active and afterward only as reasonably necessary for the purposes described in this policy, including security, dispute resolution, payment and tax records, legal obligations, and backup recovery. Retention periods differ by record and provider. Promotional subscription records are kept while you are subscribed; after you unsubscribe, we retain the minimum suppression and consent record needed to honour your choice and legal obligations.
You may submit a verified deletion request while signed in under Account in the mobile app, or start a request at https://justinvoice.ca/en/delete-account. A signed-in request is recorded before any optional Apple or Google authorization revocation is attempted. For a public request, we contact the account email to verify ownership. We process verified requests within 30 days; the account remains active and nothing is deleted immediately while the request is pending.
A verified request covers the Just Invoice account and associated business, client, product or service, invoice, estimate, settings, and server-stored file data. We delete or irreversibly anonymize that information unless a limited record must be retained for legal, security, fraud-prevention, payment, dispute, suppression, or deletion-audit purposes. Copies may remain until routine backup rotation. Deletion from Just Invoice does not delete records independently held by payment or identity providers, email recipients, your customers, or destinations where you exported or shared files; those parties' retention rules apply.
Your Choices and Rights
You may ask to access or correct your personal information, withdraw consent where processing relies on consent, or request deletion, subject to applicable exceptions. You can unsubscribe from promotional email using the message link or by contacting us. To exercise a privacy right or ask how information is handled, email support@justinvoice.ca.
We may need to verify your identity before fulfilling a request. You may also have a right to data portability or to complain to the appropriate privacy regulator, depending on where you live and the applicable law.
Quebec Privacy Rights (Law 25)
If you are a resident of Quebec, your personal information is protected under Quebec’s Act respecting the protection of personal information in the private sector, as amended by Law 25.
- Access the personal information we hold about you
- Request correction of inaccurate, incomplete, or outdated information
- Request deletion of your personal information, subject to legal and contractual retention requirements
- Withdraw consent where applicable, without affecting processing already completed
- Request computerized personal information in a structured, commonly used technological format where the law provides that right
We limit collection, use, disclosure, and retention to what is reasonably necessary for the purposes described in this policy and as otherwise permitted or required by law. Rights may be subject to identity verification and legal exceptions.
The person responsible for the protection of personal information at Just Invoice can be reached by contacting support@justinvoice.ca. We will respond to requests within a reasonable timeframe, as required by applicable law.
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Any changes will be posted on this page with an updated effective date. Continued use of the Service after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
If you have questions about privacy or data protection, you can contact us at support@justinvoice.ca.
